Yesterday I cleaned the rocker cover n applied a bead of Permatex Ultra Black then sat the cover in place with almost no tension on the 2 thumb screws. I then wiped the excess off n waited an hour before putting more pressure on the thumb screws causing a slight bulge of the sealant.

Today I finished off fitting the coil n horn before doing a start up. He started right up as soon as the starter was hit, just like he should. I ran him for a good 15 minutes at various revs with no sign of oil leaks from the cover. I've always had trouble aligning the air intake with the cut out of the side panel so a long length of wood n a bit of leverage sorted that out. Scuttle plate n bonnet on finished the assembly. Out came the grease gun n went from front to back with that. I stood back n took some pics then it occurred to me something was not right. No guidance system fitted. So went inside to the bench n fitted the shiny painted steering wheel. Something for the keen eyed people will notice that at idle n full revs the oil pressure is the same. As expected both volts n amps change as they should.

Thanks Paul. ATM I will be just runni ng it at home to get it right up to running temp which takes a lot to do with the reb uilt radiator and high capacity even with the blind up it takes a lot to get it at running temp. Once I go on the road its under load and gets up quicker but I need to be near Dee now as she is not so well with erratic blood pressures. Spent 8 hours at Manning Base the other night and got home at 2.30am n I hadnt eaten or had my diabetes meds. So long story short it seems today the pressure has settled but we cannot think what kicked it off. Doctors appointment on Tuesday for the girl.

Oil pressure not changing with revs I am wondering if oil filter is blocked and oil is going through bypass. I had a 40 series land cruiser and knew it was time to change filter when the pressure was up.

Mammoth. Before I did the engine up it only had 9psi. I wound the screw up to get ad much as possible out of it but didn't help much. I never wound it back down. Pressure relief valve is at the filter housing blowing off at 40psi.
