  He says it is Mercedes, suppose it is actually true. Like idiots advertising their Commodores as Chevrolet.

Not even that close Lang. Mercedes Benz and Freightliner are two separate companies, albeit both owned by Daimler. 
At least some Commodores were exported, rebadged and sold as Chevrolets.
